A top Russian lawmaker has linked the future of the country’s Olympic participation to a high-stakes meeting in Alaska. Dmitry Svishchev, a senior sports official in Russia’s State Duma, said that any diplomatic breakthrough between Presidents Trump and Putin could influence how the International Olympic Committee (IOC) views Russian reentry after its Ukraine invasion.

Though sports may not be directly discussed, Svishchev emphasized that “political decisions” often impact international sport, despite official denials of politicization by federations.

Honda’s connection to LA runs deep. Beadle explained that supporting LA28 was a natural fit for a company with roots in Southern California. From the Rose Parade to the Honda Center, the brand has long invested in the region.

Visualizing Honda products like the Marine or Moto Compacto helping fans get to Olympic events sealed the deal. “It aligned beyond just an auto play,” Beadle said. “We looked at it like, this is perfect.”
