An AI video imagining Neymar lifting the 2030 World Cup trophy pulled 33 million views inside 12 hours.
Then Neymar himself dropped into the comments with three crying-face emojis, and a retirement he had confirmed only days earlier suddenly looked less final.
The clip came from Nerd Soul AI on Instagram. Different-aged versions of Neymar argue over whether to try one last time for Brazil, a boy in a Santos training bib listens, and a fourth Neymar arrives holding a trophy marked 2030.
OneFootball logged 3.7 million likes, more than 190,000 comments and over one million shares alongside those views inside the same 12-hour window.
Neymar himself wrote nothing. Three emojis were enough.
Neymar’s goodbye at MetLife
On 5 July at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Neymar came off the bench in Brazil’s 2-1 last-16 defeat to Norway and pulled one back from the penalty spot.
In tears afterwards, he told broadcasters his time with the Seleção was over:
“It started here, at MetLife Stadium, and I finished here. It is now over.”

He had made his senior Brazil debut on the same pitch 16 years earlier, in a 2010 friendly against the United States.
Head coach Carlo Ancelotti, tied to Brazil through the 2030 tournament, was left to rebuild the Seleção without his captain.
UOL Esporte says the exit is final
UOL Esporte reported that Neymar’s decision to leave the national team is irreversible and that he is not part of Ancelotti’s plans for the new cycle.
That has not stopped the fan interpretation. Nearly two million likes had landed on Neymar’s own comment within a day of the video going up.

38 by the 2030 kick-off
The 2030 edition is FIFA’s centenary tournament, staged principally by Morocco, Portugal and Spain from 8 June to 21 July 2030, with opening fixtures in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Neymar will be 38 by kick-off. Lionel Messi went to the 2026 tournament at 39, Cristiano Ronaldo at 41; the door is not shut by age alone.
