WWE walked out of New Orleans with Penta and Tiffany Stratton holding the two Money in the Bank briefcases. A report that surfaced three days later says neither name was on the original script.
The claim originated with the X account False Finish, which wrote that “Roxanne Perez and Bron Breakker were originally scheduled to win their respective MITB matches before WWE ultimately decided on Tiffany Stratton and Penta.” It was picked up within hours by WrestleZone, Wrestling Inc. and 411Mania.
No reason has been attached to the switch. The outlets carrying the report note only that the reasoning behind the decision remains unclear, and WWE has made no public statement.
Penta’s Mexican Destroyer ended the men’s match
The men’s ladder match at the Smoothie King Center on 10 October ran close to 32 minutes. Bron Breakker controlled long stretches of it and at one point sent Je’Von Evans crashing through the roof of a parked ambulance. The finish came when Penta hit Breakker with a Mexican Destroyer across a bridged ladder and climbed up to pull the briefcase down. The field also included CM Punk, Kevin Owens and Trick Williams.

Stratton joins Carmella as a two-time winner
Tiffany Stratton won the six-woman match in just over 15 minutes, outlasting Sol Ruca, Lash Legend, Jacy Jayne, Lola Vice and Roxanne Perez. The win made her the second wrestler ever to take the women’s briefcase twice, joining Carmella. Stratton first won it in 2024 and later cashed in on Nia Jax to capture the WWE Women’s Championship.
Penta impressed backstage after the Reigns match
Penta’s win comes off a run that included a singles main event against Roman Reigns in Mexico earlier this year. Wrestling Inc. reports that backstage reaction to that performance was strong, with some inside the company feeling he deserved to stay near the top of the card. The same report says Stratton’s briefcase feeds a storyline building toward a cash-in on her friend Chelsea Green, who holds the Women’s Championship.
Breakker and Perez walked out of New Orleans with no booked follow-up tied to the match.
