Paris Saint-Germain are the team Lamine Yamal expects to lift the Champions League again this season, even if the Barcelona forward concedes that defending the trophy is hard.
Luis Enrique’s PSG are the two-time holders, having beaten Arsenal on penalties in last season’s final. Yamal, speaking to Movistar in an interview carried last month by Sports Illustrated, still placed them at the top of his personal reckoning.
“I think PSG. But their problem is that it’s very difficult to win after winning,” he told the Spanish broadcaster.
The teams that force Barcelona to run
Yamal did not spare his own side.

Asked where Barcelona are most exposed, he singled out exactly the two clubs he treats as Europe’s benchmark, saying their physical insistence is what tests Hansi Flick’s team more than any tactical pattern does.
“Our weak point is facing opponents like Bayern Munich or PSG, who are more physical and force you to run a lot and stay focused the entire match,” he said.
Arsenal, in his telling, present a different problem, with more weight on tactics and possession than on running sides into the ground.
He does not even watch Bayern
If PSG are the opponent Yamal fears most, Bayern Munich are the one he finds least interesting to study. In comments to Movistar reported by Goal, he said he does not watch Bundesliga or Champions League matches involving Vincent Kompany’s side.

“To be honest, I really don’t like watching Bayern matches,” he told the broadcaster.
“Because in their league, I already know they will always be very dominant. Even in the group stage of the Champions League, I don’t like watching their matches because they are so dominant.”
The German champions opened the league phase with a 5-0 home win over Bodø/Glimt, part of the kind of start Yamal appears to expect from them. Barcelona thumped Feyenoord 5-1 the same week, with Yamal among the scorers, while PSG took their opener 6-1 against Slovan Bratislava.
Galatasaray await Barcelona in Istanbul
All three clubs are back in action next week. Barcelona travel to Galatasaray in Istanbul on Tuesday, October 13, and Bayern host Viking at the Allianz Arena the same evening, with PSG at Manchester City on Wednesday, according to UEFA’s confirmed schedule.
