EFA opts for stability
Egypt are set to continue with Hossam Hassan as national team head coach after the Egyptian Football Association moved to extend his stay in charge.
According to the EFA’s official announcement, EFA president Hany Abo Rida has confirmed that the board has approved the renewal of Hassan’s contract with the senior national team.
The decision is being presented as part of a wider effort to keep the current sporting project on track after a strong period for Egyptian football.
Abo Rida said the move comes “as part of the board’s keenness to complete the technical project of the national team and build on the historic achievements made by Egyptian football during the past period.”

Final paperwork still to come
The renewal has been approved by the board, but it has not yet been fully completed on paper.
The EFA said the remaining procedures for approving and renewing the contract will be finalised at the board’s next meeting, once the national team delegation has returned to Egypt.
The decision gives Hassan a clear vote of confidence and allows him to continue working with a squad that has carried growing expectations in recent months.
Hassan remains one of the most influential figures in Egyptian football history, and his continued presence in the dugout signals that the EFA is prioritising continuity rather than another change in direction.

International attention on Egypt’s decision
According to TV 2 in Denmark, the EFA’s decision has also been reported outside Egypt, underlining the wider interest in how the Pharaohs plan to build from here.
For Hassan, the message is straightforward: the federation believes the current project deserves more time.
For Egypt, it is a bet on stability at a moment when the national team will be expected to turn recent progress into sustained results.
