Three of those assists came in one afternoon. Givairo Read set up three goals in Feyenoord’s 7-0 win at PEC Zwolle, hitting the post twice inside the opening minutes on a day that lifted his season tally to five in seven Eredivisie games.
Premier League scouts have taken notice again. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are all watching the 20-year-old right-back, with a serious approach expected either in January or, more likely, next summer.
The summer that got away
Read has been on this radar before. During the summer window, Nottingham Forest and AS Roma both opened talks with Feyenoord, only to walk away from a valuation of around €30m the Dutch club refused to move on.
He stayed, and he now has a contract at De Kuip that runs until the summer of 2029. Feyenoord are under no pressure to sell.
A record within reach
Read’s three assists at PEC Zwolle brought his career Eredivisie tally to 12 in 49 games, level with former Feyenoord defender Rick Karsdorp as the most-creating defender in the competition this century over a first 50 matches.
His 50th Eredivisie appearance is due this weekend. One more assist and Karsdorp’s mark is his alone.
Liverpool ahead in the queue
Of the three interested clubs, Liverpool are said to have the strongest interest, viewing Read as a longer-term answer at right-back. FootballTransfers reports that a January move is possible, though a summer 2027 window remains the more probable destination.
Arsenal and Manchester City are further back in the running but both are keeping tabs, according to the same reporting. Football data analysts put Read’s current market value at around €27.5m; Feyenoord’s own valuation held at €30m through the summer, and there is no sign it has moved.

Read is a Netherlands under-21 international and has yet to be called up to the senior squad. Feyenoord return to Eredivisie action at the weekend, when the 50th league game, and the chance to break Karsdorp’s record, is waiting.
