Huijsen had been caught by a long David Hancko pass and could only drag Giuliano Simeone down as the Atlético winger accelerated into the box. What started as a caution and a spot-kick ended, after that trip to the monitor, as a straight red for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity.
Alejandro Grimaldo tucked away the penalty. Six minutes later Jonathan David converted a Simeone cross to make it 2-0, becoming, according to Opta’s stats package, the first Atlético player to score in his first three La Liga appearances for the club this century.

Mourinho points at the committee
Mourinho did not hide his verdict on the officiating.
“The one who should be happy is the Referees’ Committee. It was all very strange,” the Real Madrid manager told reporters, in a line picked up by OneFootball.
Real Madrid’s players declined to speak in the mixed zone.
