Kevin De Bruyne took a seat at the Louvre on Tuesday night, dressed head to toe in black, with Michèle Lacroix beside him in a red skirt and black leather jacket.
The couple attended Louis Vuitton’s spring-summer 2027 show, the collection Nicolas Ghesquière used to close Paris Fashion Week on October 6. Alongside them in the front row sat Zendaya, Emma Stone, Ana de Armas, Pharrell Williams and Jaden Smith.
De Bruyne was in town because Belgium had been in town. The Red Devils lost 4-1 to France at the Stade de France on October 5 in a Nations League tie he sat out through suspension. He simply stayed for the shows.
From a tweet to the Eiffel Tower
What travels on these pictures is less the clothes than the backstory. De Bruyne and Lacroix first connected in 2014, when he was on loan at Werder Bremen and she liked a tweet he had posted. He wanted to reply and could not bring himself to do it, so a friend slid into her DMs on his behalf.

They have been together ever since. De Bruyne proposed at the Eiffel Tower in 2016, the pair married the following year, and they have three children. Paris, for them, is not an accidental stop.
Not a Manchester City player anymore
Headlines around De Bruyne still often tether him to Manchester City, where he spent a decade. He is not there anymore. The club confirmed in June 2025 that he would join Napoli on a free transfer, and the 35-year-old is now in his second season in Serie A.
Lacroix’s turn at the Louvre was covered as its own red-carpet moment by Belgian outlet Paris Match, which noted that De Bruyne extended his Paris stay for the show after sitting out the France game.
