Two Real Madrid first-team players have recently been involved in a physical altercation, Cadena SER’s Anton Meana told listeners of El Larguero. Meana did not name the pair, but used the incident to argue that nothing has really changed under Jose Mourinho since the summer.

“The only problem is that I still see the dressing room as cold as it was five months ago,” Meana said.

Mbappe’s Alps bike ride, and a breakfast dressing-down

Kylian Mbappe left the France squad with an injury during the international break and then posted a video of himself cycling in Switzerland. That was not allowed. Mourinho had set the rule publicly earlier in the season.

Mourinho addressed the subject earlier in the campaign.

“A player can’t ski in the mountains, he can’t ride a bicycle,” Mourinho said. “It has to do with the importance you give to your work. If you fall off a bicycle, you might miss three games.”

The France international was summoned to breakfast on Tuesday for what Football Transfers described as a “dressing-down” from the head coach. Mbappe spent the rest of that day in Paris before flying back to Madrid in the evening.

Marca’s Pablo Polo added that the irritation ran beyond the bike ride itself.

“Mourinho did not appreciate how Mbappe managed his recovery,” Polo said.

“His movements and also the fact that he arrived on Monday after training.”

‘Just the tip of the iceberg’

French journalist Daniel Riolo went further on RMC, warning that the cycling row is only a symptom.

“The bicycle incident is just the tip of the iceberg,” Riolo said.

“He’s not doing well mentally. Let’s not rule out a departure at the end of the season.”

Mourinho signed a three-year contract when Real Madrid confirmed his return on 11 June 2026.

Mbappe has not trained with the rest of the squad since Tuesday’s breakfast confrontation.
