Pedro Porro’s name is doing the rounds in Spain again. A set of Spanish-language transfer reports has both Real Madrid and Barcelona watching the Tottenham right-back and willing to consider a move to bring him back to La Liga.
That is where the early-rumour caveats bite. No bid has been lodged by either club, the stories sit in the Spanish aggregator circuit rather than with tier-one transfer breakers, and Porro is signed to Tottenham until June 2031 after Spurs confirmed a new long-term deal with him in June.
A Clasico tug-of-war that does not quite exist yet
Barcelona’s reported interest, flagged by Spanish site Fichajes.net and picked up in English coverage, has sporting director Deco monitoring Porro as a possible upgrade on the right flank.
The parallel line on Real Madrid sits in the same aggregator circuit, with the 27-year-old said to appeal again under head coach Jose Mourinho, who signed on at the Bernabeu in June on a three-year deal. Neither club has commented publicly.

The 2031 contract changes the maths
Tottenham moved early to settle Porro’s future. He signed a new contract on 15 June 2026 that runs through June 2031 with an option for a further year, closing out an earlier round of interest from Real Madrid and Manchester City.
“Pedro is a very important player for us, who has consistently shown his ability to influence matches in both defensive and attacking situations,” head coach Roberto De Zerbi said at the time.
De Zerbi was appointed by Spurs on 31 March 2026 as the club’s third head coach of the 2025-26 season, and keeping Porro was one of his first big calls.
Sporting director Johan Lange underlined the direction of travel.

“Securing Pedro’s future was an important priority for us this summer.”
Why Spain wants him back
Porro’s stock in La Liga is higher than it has ever been. He scored twice at the 2026 World Cup, including the semifinal goal against France that put Spain into the final, and was named in FIFA’s team of the tournament as La Roja lifted the trophy.
He is 27, under contract for another five years, and any serious bidder now has to deal with Tottenham from a weak position. No formal bid has been reported, and no club has commented.
