Michael Olise lost his head. Zlatko Tripić is not pretending he had nothing to do with it.
In the 73rd minute of Tuesday’s Champions League league-phase draw at the SR-Bank Arena, Olise, already on a yellow for holding, hurled the ball into the Viking captain’s face and walked. Herman Haugen’s 90th-minute header completed the Norwegian hosts’ comeback for 3-3.
Tripić, who had spent most of the night wrestling with the French winger, said he was “unbelievably happy” in post-match comments reported by Bulinews.
“I think I managed to get under the skin of half the Bayern team.”

“He wasn’t going to come here and have an easy time. I managed to distract him a little, and he threw the ball straight into my face. I feel like I won the battle against him today.”
The 33-year-old went further in Norwegian post-match interviews, carried by Goal.
“He didn’t get up to much. He was probably a bit annoyed, and we managed to wind him up.”
Eberl calls Tripić a scumbag
Bayern’s travelling party were in no mood for compliments. Sporting director Max Eberl, asked about Tripić’s conduct, did not reach for diplomacy, telling Yahoo Sports exactly what he made of the Viking captain.

“[Zlatko Tripić] played like a scumbag. He wanted to win the game.”
Eberl also conceded Bayern had “let ourselves get provoked” and said the club would “discuss calmly” whether Olise faced an internal fine.
Head coach Vincent Kompany was similarly scathing, calling the dismissal “super dumb” and saying he could see the regret in Olise’s eyes.
Harry Kane, who had hauled Bayern back from 2-0 down with a brace, offered the coldest reading.

“He’ll have to take responsibility obviously, he’ll have to learn from it. It’s a shame because obviously we have big games coming up in the Champions League now and he’s going to be gutted to miss those games,” Kane told ESPN.
Olise out of Arsenal clash
The dismissal triggers an automatic one-match UEFA ban, ruling him out of Bayern’s next Champions League match against Arsenal.
Asked about Kane’s mention of him, the Viking captain told Norwegian reporters he had enjoyed the attention.
“It’s fun that Kane mentioned me. He’s extremely good at that himself and knows the cynicism required.”

He admitted the mood around the Bayern party had not been forgiving.
“I was scolded by most people. I didn’t dare go into the Bayern dressing room to ask for a shirt.”
