From the 2027 season, whoever rolls into Paris in yellow will be wearing a jersey made in Fonzaso rather than Bergamo. Castelli, the Italian clothing house founded in 1876, will take over as official partner of the Amaury Sport Organisation and replace Santini on every podium ASO stages.
The agreement was announced on 13 October and runs for six years. It covers the men’s Tour de France, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift and 25 other ASO events, from the Vuelta a España and Paris-Nice to the Paris-Roubaix Challenge and the Étape du Tour. More than 100 race days a year on the men’s and women’s calendars will be stitched into Castelli kit.
The headline consequence is a first in the sport. Castelli already supplies the Giro d’Italia’s maglia rosa, and from 2027 the brand will add the Tour’s yellow jersey and the Vuelta’s red jersey, meaning every Grand Tour leader will pull on the same label.
The last Castelli yellow was in 1994
Castelli last made the yellow jersey in 1994. During its first run with the Tour, from 1989 to 1994, the brand’s jersey was handed to Greg LeMond for two of his victories and to Miguel Indurain for four straight Tour wins. Vintage footage from that era, including Claudio Chiappucci in Castelli yellow, ran in the video in which the deal was unveiled.
The brand turned 150 in 2026, and Steve Smith, Castelli’s global brand manager, framed the Tour return around that anniversary.
“For a global cycling brand, producing the Maillot Jaune of the Tour de France is the greatest honour there is.”
“Returning to the Tour de France feels like coming home.”
ASO chief executive Yan Le Moënner was shorter.

Santini’s five-year run ends in 2026
Santini has made the yellow jersey since 2022, a five-year stint that covered the Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard duel at the top of the sport. The Bergamo-based manufacturer produced the maillot jaune, the green points jersey, the polka-dot climber’s jersey and the white young-rider jersey for the men’s race and for the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.
The Castelli version of the yellow jersey will be shown to the public at the 2027 Tour de France route presentation in Paris on 22 October. The green, polka-dot and white jerseys will be revealed later.
