The French winger’s preference is now the central fact of one of Europe’s biggest transfer files. According to German reporting cited by FootballTransfers, Olise is “excited” about the possibility of joining Real Madrid, and the message has reached the Allianz Arena.

Bayern are not panicking. Olise is tied down until 2029, there is no release clause in his current deal, and sporting director Christoph Freund has set out the club’s position in public.

“He is under contract until 2029, so there is no pressure. He feels extremely comfortable at FC Bayern, and we are always in contact with him. As I said, there is no time pressure,” Freund told Sky Germany, as cited by FootballTransfers. “Michael has made incredible progress with us and is currently one of the best players in the world.”

Bayern want their highest-paid player

The club’s plan is to turn their relaxed public line into a signed renewal. Bayern are willing to make the 24-year-old their highest earner, and talks on a new deal are ongoing. The sticking point is a release clause: Olise does not have one now, and FootballTransfers reports a clause will be one of the key points under discussion, something Bayern may have to accept to get an extension signed.

That is the opening Real Madrid are watching. Yahoo Sports reports that Madrid remain interested even after signing RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande over the summer, and that Los Blancos will wait for Bayern’s next move before deciding how hard to push. Some Spanish outlets have suggested Madrid may be prioritising a run at Erling Haaland instead.

Where this leaves Arsenal and Liverpool

The Premier League’s two biggest Olise admirers are losing ground. Liverpool have been linked for months and see the left-footed Frenchman as an ideal wide option. Arsenal, per FootballTransfers, are not actively pursuing him at this stage and are keeping themselves informed on his situation rather than driving a deal.

Both are, for now, behind Real Madrid in Olise’s own ranking. German reporter Christian Falk, cited by CaughtOffside, indicates that Olise is more excited by the prospect of moving to Spain, though a Premier League return is not completely ruled out.

Bayern had already made the English picture clearer over the summer, telling Premier League clubs that Olise “does not intend to head back to England in the foreseeable future,” according to TEAMtalk, which also reports that of the two La Liga options, Real Madrid is the preferred destination over Barcelona.

The next move is Bayern’s

The timeline that matters now is Bayern’s. If the extension gets signed with a workable release clause, Madrid and the Premier League clubs get a defined price to meet. If talks drag on with the current deal ticking toward its final two years, every suitor will press harder.

TEAMtalk reports that neither Bayern nor Madrid expect Olise to push for an exit this transfer window, with all parties believing he will continue in Munich before his future is reassessed later. The next concrete step is the renewal offer Freund puts on the table, and whether Olise signs it.
