Barcola had worked away from the main group on Thursday, a precaution that briefly cast the £120m summer signing’s weekend involvement into doubt. Iraola used Friday’s pre-match press conference to end the uncertainty, insisting the former Paris Saint-Germain winger was fit and available at Anfield.
“Yes, Bradley has trained today normally. He is fine. No problems. It was just a matter of dealing with the load and sometimes they have to stay inside,” Iraola told reporters.
The 24-year-old attacker arrived in a deal that could rise to £120m with add-ons, the headline signing of a reshaped forward line.
Szoboszlai and Frimpong miss out
The newest additions to the injury list are Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong, both hurt in the recent trip to Brentford. According to Iraola, Frimpong picked up a new muscle injury within the opening minutes of that game and is facing around a month on the sidelines, while Szoboszlai is nursing a recurrence of an existing issue rather than a fresh problem, he has not worsened it, but needs more time to recover fully.

Three long-term absentees, one new doubt
Three other first-teamers remain unavailable from earlier in the year. Hugo Ekitike has not played since rupturing an Achilles tendon in April. Conor Bradley has been sidelined since a knee injury in January. Giovanni Leoni is working his way back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, with a return to training not expected until the November international break.
Victor Munoz joins Barcola as a Friday assessment case, though with a less positive verdict. Iraola suggested the knee knock the player picked up at Brentford had already ruled him out of the midweek trip to Villarreal and would probably keep him out against Brighton as well, though the manager stopped short of a definitive call.
With Barcola available alongside Alexander Isak, Liverpool retain the core of their first-choice attack. The reshuffle will fall on midfield, where Szoboszlai’s absence narrows Iraola’s options.
Kick-off at Anfield is at 2pm local time on Sunday, 25 October, with Sky Sports carrying the broadcast.
