Paris Saint-Germain are weighing their options after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during their 4-2 Champions League win over Barcelona on October 20, an injury the club said requires surgery and will keep him out for months.

The Georgian is the most creative wide forward in Luis Enrique’s squad, and his absence lands at the point when PSG are chasing a third successive Champions League title after back-to-back triumphs in 2024-25 and 2025-26. According to analysis by Get French Football News, Luis Enrique is working through a mix of in-house candidates before deciding whether to push into the January transfer market.

The names being considered internally

Get French Football News lists several current squad members the Spaniard could lean on, each with a different profile:

  • Mika Godts, the 21-year-old Belgian winger joined from Ajax for up to €55m in August and is framed as the most obvious like-for-like for the left flank, though GFFN notes he has yet to settle.
  • Désiré Doué, the France international prefers the right wing but can switch sides, and has made a strong start to the season.
  • Maghnes Akliouche, a summer arrival from Monaco whose output GFFN describes as mixed so far.
  • Ferran Torres, signed from Barcelona in the same window as Godts; GFFN notes he has looked more effective centrally than on the wing, which would make a shift to the left a compromise.
  • Nuno Mendes, the Portuguese left-back has previously started in Ligue 1 games as a left winger, offering a tactical reshuffle rather than a pure replacement.
  • Senny Mayulu and Quentin Ndjantou, academy products mentioned as backup options.

No deal confirmed

PSG have not announced any move for an outside recruit. Get French Football News presents the names above as candidates under consideration, not as targets whose arrival has been agreed.

Kvaratskhelia will undergo surgery in the coming days, the club confirmed in its official statement. Ousmane Dembélé and captain Marquinhos, who both picked up thigh muscle tears in the same match, are also expected to miss several weeks.
