Two weeks ago Nicolo Tresoldi was the young German forward who had just become the youngest player from his country to score a Champions League hat-trick. On Sunday he was the striker five of the richest clubs in English football had flown scouts to Belgium to watch.
The 22-year-old scored all three Club Brugge goals in a 3-2 win over Sint-Truiden on Sunday, 25 October. Two came inside two first-half minutes, with his first-half double and a 75th-minute finish sealing the win and taking him to 12 goals in 14 matches across all competitions this season.
It was his third treble in less than four weeks. He had already scored a hat-trick against Inter Milan in a 4-3 Champions League win on 13 October, a game that made him, at 22 years and 54 days, the youngest German to score three in a Champions League match.

According to TeamTalk, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle all had representatives inside the stadium for Sunday’s win. Chelsea and Manchester City are said to be leading the chase, with both clubs looking at Tresoldi as a long-term No. 9 option.

Nothing has been confirmed by any of the clubs or by the player himself. For now this is a rumour, driven by one Belgian weekend and the pattern of scouts turning up in Bruges every time Tresoldi plays.
Brugge’s price tag
TeamTalk reports that it would take a club-record fee to prise Tresoldi from Brugge, with that benchmark currently standing at €40m. That is what Olympiacos paid for Christos Tzolis in the summer, and Brugge are said to want more than that figure for Tresoldi. The Belgian side also have no intention of selling in the January window, per the same report.
Brugge are well placed to hold out. Tresoldi joined from Hannover 96 in 2025 for a reported €7.5m and is tied to the club until 2029. He finished last season as the Belgian Pro League’s top scorer with 19 goals.
Germany, Italy or Argentina
Tresoldi’s international file is almost as crowded as his transfer file. He was born in Cagliari to Italian parents, moved to Germany as a teenager, and has played for Germany at Under-21 level, where he scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Malta on 30 September. Italy and Argentina have both been credited with interest in him for their senior sides.
