Wayne Rooney has not been officially confirmed in the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here cast, but reports already have him running into a rule the broadcaster quietly concedes it cannot police.
Contestants, according to GiveMeSport, are not supposed to seek advice from anyone who has previously appeared on the show before entering the jungle. The former Manchester United striker shares a home with Coleen Rooney, who finished runner-up in the 2024 series.
GiveMeSport describes the rule as one “ITV seemingly has little interest in enforcing, given the obvious difficulties in policing such conversations.”
ITV has not confirmed Rooney’s involvement at all. Asked about the reported line-up, the broadcaster told TVGuide.co.uk: “Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity are just speculation.”

The rule has been bent before. GiveMeSport notes that contestant Danny Thomas sought advice from his former co-star Adam Thomas, who entered the jungle in 2016, with no sanction following.
The new series launches on Monday, 16 November at 9pm local time on ITV1.
