Arsenal step up interest in RB Leipzig teenager Yan Diomande

Arsenal are among several Premier League clubs keeping tabs on RB Leipzig’s teenage sensation Yan Diomande, as the Ivorian forward continues to impress in his debut Bundesliga season.

Reports from GIVEMESPORT suggest the 18-year-old’s early performances in Germany have not gone unnoticed. Journalist Graeme Bailey told the outlet that Diomande’s form has made him one of the most talked-about young players in European football.

The winger has already contributed to five goals in his first nine Bundesliga matches, underlining his growing influence at Leipzig.

Since arriving from Leganes in the summer, just months after leaving the DME Academy in the United States, Diomande has quickly adapted to top-flight competition.

Leipzig activated his £17.6 million release clause and signed him on a five-year contract, signaling their confidence in his long-term potential.

Leipzig’s rising prodigy draws major attention

According to Bailey, Diomande’s impact has been significant despite the arrival of other summer recruits.

“Despite Ole Werner having Johan Bakayoko and Antonio Nusa at his disposal, Diomande is the one everyone is talking about,” Bailey told GIVEMESPORT. “Red Bull believe he could be their greatest prospect since Erling Haaland. Leipzig say there is no release clause, and already he’s being mentioned in the £88 million bracket.”

The youngster’s recent form has strengthened that buzz, he has been directly involved in five goals over his last two matches, helping Leipzig claim convincing victories over Augsburg and Stuttgart.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and City among admirers

Sources in Germany indicate that Premier League scouts have stepped up their monitoring of Diomande’s progress. GIVEMESPORT reports that Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City are all tracking the forward, while continental heavyweights Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping close watch.

The 18-year-old could eventually follow the pathway of former Leipzig players who moved to England, such as Dominik Szoboszlai, Josko Gvardiol, and Benjamin Šeško, as the club continues to develop elite prospects under manager Ole Werner.

Why Arsenal are interested

Arsenal’s interest aligns with Mikel Arteta’s broader strategy of targeting technically gifted players under 21 who can develop within his high-tempo, possession-based system. Diomande’s blend of pace, directness, and composure in the final third fits that profile.

Gunners maintain strong form

While monitoring Diomande’s situation, Arsenal remain in excellent form. The Gunners currently sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League after ten matches and have kept eight consecutive clean sheets across all competitions.

Their latest result, a 3–0 Champions League victory over Slavia Prague, further underlined their confidence heading into this weekend’s trip to Sunderland before the November international break.
