This list revisits the top scorer of each season from 2005/06 to 2024/25, highlighting the players who left their mark with goals, consistency, and unforgettable performances.

2005/06 – Miroslav Klose – 25 goals

German legend Miroslav Klose led the scoring charts with 25 goals for Werder Bremen. His all-around ability, sharp movement, and clinical finishing made him one of the most feared strikers in the league.

2006/07 – Theofanis Gekas – 20 goals

Greek forward Theofanis Gekas surprised many by finishing top scorer with 20 goals for VfL Bochum. Despite playing for a modest club, his instinct inside the box stood out.

2007/08 – Luca Toni – 24 goals

Italian striker Luca Toni hit the ground running in his debut Bundesliga season, netting 24 goals for Bayern Munich. His physical presence and poacher’s instincts were key to Bayern’s success.

2008/09 – Grafite – 28 goals

Brazilian forward Grafite fired Wolfsburg to a historic league title, scoring 28 goals. His incredible partnership with Edin Džeko was one of the best in Bundesliga history.

2009/10 – Edin Džeko – 22 goals

One year later, Džeko stepped up as Wolfsburg’s main man and scored 22 goals. His dominant aerial ability and finishing prowess earned him a move to Manchester City soon after.

2010/11 – Mario Gómez – 28 goals

2013/14 – Robert Lewandowski – 20 goals

2014/15 – Alexander Meier – 19 goals

Eintracht Frankfurt’s Alexander Meier had a remarkable season with 19 goals. Despite injuries and inconsistent form from his team, he proved lethal in front of goal.

2015/16 – Robert Lewandowski – 30 goals

Now with Bayern Munich, Lewandowski returned to the top with 30 goals. His complete forward play—link-up, headers, and long-range shots—was on full display.

2016/17 – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 31 goals

Aubameyang edged out Lewandowski in a tight race, finishing with 31 goals for Dortmund. His explosive pace and sharp finishing thrilled fans throughout the campaign.

2017/18 – Robert Lewandowski – 29 goals

2018/19 – Robert Lewandowski – 22 goals

2022/23 – Niclas Füllkrug & Christopher Nkunku – 16 goals
