Eddie Hall blacks out after 1,000kg leg press in resurfaced training clip
A resurfaced Eddie Hall training clip is drawing attention again because of what happens after the lift, not just the weight itself. According to Alex Batt of GiveMeSport, Hall finishes a huge leg press attempt, racks the machine, then loses consciousness for a few seconds in a moment that underlines how far he was pushing his body. The footage originally appeared on Hall’s own YouTube channel, where the former World’s Strongest Man documented the session as one of his most extreme gym efforts.
The session built toward a dangerous finish
Rather than beginning with the leg press alone, the workout first showed Hall moving through a 220kg squat set, with GiveMeSport noting that the number was still below his reported 300kg personal best. He then shifted to a leg press machine loaded to 850kg, but decided to go further by adding extra plates and dumbbells until the total reached 1,000kg. Before the attempt, Hall says, “I’m going to go for 1,000 kilos, which is the heaviest I’ve ever done on this machine.” According to GiveMeSport’s account of the clip, Hall completed four repetitions before the effort caught up with him moments later.
The blackout is what made the clip memorable
What gives the video its lasting impact is the sudden change after the set ends. Once the weight is racked, Hall drops back and appears motionless for several seconds before coming around and asking his cameraman, “Did I just black out then?” The moment has kept circulating because it captures both the spectacle and the risk that often come with Hall’s training persona, which has long been built around extraordinary strength and a willingness to chase headline level lifts. That combination is what has helped keep older clips like this one relevant years after they were first uploaded.
Hall has since taken that intensity into combat sports
Hall’s profile has expanded well beyond strongman, with his online audience following not only training videos but also challenges, fight preparation and crossover appearances. He lost to Hafthor Björnsson by unanimous decision in their 2022 boxing match, a result that remains one of the biggest crossover moments tied to his post strongman career. More recently, reporting said Hall had announced a Misfits event appearance in Manchester on June 13, 2026, though his opponent had not yet been confirmed at the time of those reports. In that sense, the resurfaced leg press clip feels less like an isolated stunt and more like an early example of the all in style that still shapes how Hall presents himself to fans.
