Achraf Hakimi ordered to stand trial in Paris rape case
Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco international Achraf Hakimi has been ordered to stand trial before a criminal court in France over an alleged rape said to have taken place on February 25, 2023, at his home in Paris.
According to The Touchline | 𝐓, the case began after a woman told investigators she connected with Hakimi via Instagram before visiting his residence. She alleges that what started with a consensual kiss escalated into a non-consensual act, claiming he forcibly fingered and raped her despite her objections.
The woman informed authorities that she sent real-time messages to a friend during the encounter. Prosecutors later cited those messages as elements supporting her version of events, according to The Touchline | 𝐓.
Clashing accounts in court
Hakimi has denied the allegations. He maintains there was no penetration and no absence of consent. In his account, there were “only 4 kisses,” and he stopped immediately when she said “no.”

Through his legal team, Hakimi has suggested he may have been the target of a setup and has described the matter as one person’s word against another’s.
The woman initially filed a police report rather than lodging a formal complaint. According to The Touchline | 𝐓, she declined medical examinations and DNA testing on two occasions, refused to allow investigators to examine her phone and did not provide the name of a potential witness. As a result, no forensic evidence was collected in the case.
How the case reached criminal court
In August 2025, prosecutors recommended that the matter proceed to trial, citing the complainant’s testimony and the messages sent to her friend, according to The Touchline | 𝐓. A judge has now formally ordered that the case be heard in criminal court. A trial date has not yet been announced.
Hakimi’s lawyer has appealed the ruling, arguing that the case rests solely on opposing statements. Hakimi also addressed the situation publicly, writing: "A rape accusation is enough to justify a trial... I calmly await this trial, which will allow the truth to come out publicly."
