Four minutes. That is Endrick’s share of competitive football for Real Madrid this season, a brief cameo in a 3-2 win over Elche across the first eight matches of the campaign. The rest of the time, the 20-year-old Brazilian has been on the bench or sidelined by a pre-season injury.

He is ready to leave again. According to Spanish daily AS, carried on Yahoo Sports, Endrick will push for a January loan if his situation at the Bernabeu does not change, and Roma are the clubs out in front.

Mourinho’s summer pitch, and what came after

Roma had an agreement all but signed in the summer. Jose Mourinho, who took the Real Madrid job on a three-year deal in June 2026, stepped in and told Endrick he was counting on him for the season ahead. The player stayed. The minutes have not followed.

Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Arda Guler, Brahim Diaz, Yan Diomande and summer arrival Carlos Espi are all ahead of him in attack. Endrick was an unused substitute three times, including for the Rayo Vallecano league fixture and the Champions League meeting with Inter Milan, before his four-minute walk-on against Elche. Goal reports that the summer conversation with Mourinho was what talked him out of the Roma move, and that the lack of game time since has reopened the door.

Milan and the Premier League are circling

Roma are not alone. AC Milan have been tracking Endrick’s situation since the summer window and are expected to try again. TeamTalk reports Arsenal are the Premier League side most actively linked, with Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all having made summer inquiries, and the player’s agents putting clubs in the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 on alert.

Those agents are scheduled to meet Real Madrid during the current international break to review Endrick’s short-term future.

Ancelotti has been blunt about the cost

The frustration reaches beyond the player. Carlo Ancelotti, now in his second year as Brazil head coach after leaving Real Madrid in 2025, has been pointed about what dormant seasons do to young Brazilian players.

“The problem for Brazilian kids is they don’t improve because they don’t play regularly,” he told reporters, as carried by Football-Italia.

Endrick arrived in Madrid from Palmeiras in July 2024 as one of the most hyped teenagers in world football. He has already been through this cycle once: a January 2026 loan to Lyon returned him eight goals and eight assists in 21 appearances before he came back to the Bernabeu. The January 2027 window opens three months from now.
