Noni Madueke has just 24 Premier League minutes to his name this season.

The 24-year-old winger has made two substitute appearances in the league for Arsenal and has yet to score or set up a goal in the competition. His starts have come in the Community Shield and the Carabao Cup. Bukayo Saka is now fully fit on the right, limiting Madueke’s route into the starting line-up.

Atlético Madrid and Juventus are monitoring the situation closely ahead of January, with a loan deal that includes an option to buy regarded as the most realistic formula. Atlético see Madueke as a player who could add pace and directness to Diego Simeone’s attack. Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira publicly rated him during the summer’s World Cup, saying “you are not going to find somebody better than Madueke” for his running in behind defences.

Arsenal set to reject January bids

Arsenal are not planning to sanction a mid-season exit. The club has decided to turn down any January bids for Madueke, with Mikel Arteta still viewing him as essential depth across four competitions. No formal negotiations have taken place with either Italian or Spanish side.

Arteta’s own position at the club looks settled. Fabrizio Romano has reported the manager is very, very close to signing a new contract, with discussions in their final stages.

Madueke joined Arsenal from Chelsea for £48.5m and started 16 Premier League matches in Arteta’s 2025/26 title-winning campaign.

Madueke willing to stay and fight

The player has no immediate desire to leave and is prepared to stay and compete for his place, according to reporting around the clubs’ interest. The lack of minutes is nonetheless starting to cost him elsewhere: Thomas Tuchel left Madueke out of England’s latest squad because of his limited domestic action.

The January transfer window in England opens on 1 January 2027.
