While Barcelona is reportedly “open to pay fee slightly over €45m,” Manchester City is “indicating higher price,” according to Fabrizio Romano. AS suggests the total operation could cost Barcelona close to €60 million.
The Ferran Torres financial dynamic
The complexity of the Rodri deal is amplified by Barcelona’s outstanding financial obligations to Manchester City stemming from Ferran Torres’s move in January 2022. Torres’s initial transfer fee was £47.6 million, with an additional £8.4 million in add-ons, of which £5.9 million are considered effectively guaranteed.
