AC Milan are reportedly preparing a big-money move for Chelsea winger Pedro Neto as Ruben Amorim looks to continue his summer rebuild at San Siro.
According to The Sun, the Rossoneri have identified the Portugal international as one of their priority targets before the transfer window closes on September 1. Milan’s interest comes amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Rafael Leao, who continues to be linked with a move away from the club.
Amorim wants Neto at San Siro
Amorim, who was appointed AC Milan head coach earlier this summer after replacing Massimiliano Allegri, is said to be eager to strengthen his attacking options.
After reportedly completing the club-record signing of Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the window, Milan are now turning their attention to Neto. The 26-year-old is viewed as the ideal player to fill the void should Leao leave before the transfer deadline.

According to the report, Chelsea would demand around €70 million (£60 million) for the winger, whose contract at Stamford Bridge runs until 2031.
Manchester City also monitoring situation
Milan could face stiff competition for Neto’s signature.
The Sun reports that Manchester City have also been tracking the Chelsea forward, although any move may depend on developments involving Savinho. The Brazilian has been linked with a potential exit from the Etihad Stadium this summer, and his departure could influence City’s transfer plans.
Tottenham keeping a close eye
Tottenham Hotspur could yet emerge as another contender in the race.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed Spurs would consider making a move for Neto if they are unable to sign Savinho. Tottenham have also been linked with Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo, although that option could depend on Liverpool’s own business during the remainder of the window.
With several clubs monitoring the situation, Pedro Neto’s future is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing transfer stories of the closing weeks of the summer window. According to The Sun, AC Milan are determined to test Chelsea’s resolve as Amorim looks to make another statement signing ahead of the new season.
