Cucurellas barber leaked confidential Chelsea information ahead of Brighton loss

Barber post revealed key absences before kick-off

According to Goal’s report by Muhammad Zaki, Chelsea were hit by a fresh internal leak before the Premier League game against Brighton after an account alleged to belong to Marc Cucurella’s barber posted that Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro would both miss the match through injury. The post appeared on X before the official team news was released, and the information later proved to be accurate.

The report said the post was published alongside a photo of a player getting a haircut, believed to be Cucurella, although his face was not visible. Palmer missed the game with a hamstring issue, while Pedro was still unavailable after failing to recover in time. The account and the original post were later deleted.

Chelsea's leak problem is back in focus

The incident reopened a problem Chelsea had already tried to contain earlier in the season. Earlier line-up leaks had caused concern around the club, and this latest case undermined the idea that the issue had been dealt with. In Sky Sports’ coverage of Rosenior’s post-match remarks, the Chelsea manager’s broader frustration after the defeat was clear, even if the bigger concern now is that another accurate team leak surfaced before kick-off.

Goal also cited Rosenior’s earlier comments about previous leaks, where he said the club knew where the information had come from and had handled the situation. After another breach reached the public before the official announcement, those assurances now look far less convincing.

Brighton defeat turned a bad look into a serious embarrassment

What might have remained an off-field problem looked worse because of what followed on the pitch. Chelsea lost 3-0 to Brighton and failed to register a single shot on target, extending a damaging run in the league. Sky Sports’ match report described it as Chelsea’s fifth straight Premier League defeat without scoring, the club’s worst such run since 1912.

Rosenior was blunt afterward. In the same Sky Sports interview, he called the display “unacceptable in every aspect of the game” and criticized the team’s attitude as well as the football itself. The result left Chelsea under heavier pressure at a point in the season when they could least afford another collapse.

Leeds now becomes the match that defines the response

The focus now shifts to Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final against Leeds, which comes after a run that has badly damaged the club’s momentum and credibility. With league form deteriorating and confidence slipping, the next game is no longer just another fixture. It is the clearest test yet of whether Rosenior can regain control of a side that currently looks disorganized on and off the pitch.
