Days into EA Sports FC 27’s early access window, one of the game’s stranger launch bugs is spreading across Reddit and X: female player models keep rendering in their underwear instead of the club kit.

The clip that pushed it viral came from a pre-match dressing-room sequence posted by Reddit user MereDaaruChadhGi under the title “Why is there a girl in bikini in my dressing room?” The team stands around one female player still in her default base model, as if her uniform never loaded.

The bug has since spread beyond the dressing room. A follow-up Reddit post from user Exact-Treat4404 shows a female player celebrating a goal with teammates on the pitch in the same undergarments.

Only female models seem to break

Reports so far describe the bug as one-sided.

“We’ve yet to see it happening to male players in the game,” Insider Gaming wrote in its report on the issue.

No one has pinned down what triggers the misrender. The site called it a graphical failure of unknown origin, and said it was clearly a glitch that EA would look to fix once it noticed. VGTimes described the same pattern, naming Ultimate Team matches, dressing-room sequences, and on-pitch celebrations as the scenarios where it appears.

The clips came from premium early access

The footage began surfacing during the pre-launch period reserved for Ultimate Edition and Ultimate Edition Plus buyers, who received up to seven days of early access from 18 September.

EA Sports FC 27 goes on general sale on 25 September on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, alongside PS4 and Xbox One versions.

Not every player is treating the bug as a problem. Russian-language site iXBT Games reported that community reaction has been split, with some players joking about an “ultra-premium version” and asking that it stay unfixed.

EA has not addressed it

EA Sports has issued no public statement about the female-model rendering bug. The launch pitch notes EA published on 14 September, which set out new features and modes rather than fixes, do not mention it.
