Harry Kane is not going anywhere. That is the reading from Christian Falk, the BILD reporter who has broken most of the moves around Munich in recent years, and who now expects Kane to put his signature on a new deal before 2026 is out.
The framework Falk has laid out is a two-year extension until the summer of 2029, on top of the year Kane still has to run. Salary would stay in the region of €25m gross per season, in line with what the England captain currently earns. A longer commitment beyond 2029 has been floated too, potentially with slightly different terms and a release clause built in.
Kane’s own tone has matched that timeline. He described the first meeting as productive, telling reporters “talks have been positive” and “so far, so good.”
“I’d like to stay long term. We’ll have to see how many years that is. I’m 33 years old, so it might not be my last contract but it’s a big contract for me.”

Bayern’s board is not hiding it
The public messaging out of Munich has been almost coordinated. President Herbert Hainer told local media the club is pushing to keep him.
“We want to extend with him and I also think that’s what will happen.”
Sporting director Max Eberl has called the discussions “very harmonious,” and chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen has made no secret of the club’s stance.
“The chemistry is perfect, so we’re completely relaxed about the matter. Whether it happens one day earlier or one day later is irrelevant.”

Honorary president Uli Hoeneß has also weighed in, saying he sees no reason for Kane to leave.
What Kane actually wants from the deal
According to Falk, Kane’s own priorities are shaping the length of the contract as much as the money. The 33-year-old wants to still be at the top of the game for Euro 2028, and the 2030 World Cup is also on his mind. Above either, he wants to win the Champions League with Bayern, the one trophy that has eluded him in a career already stacked with two Bundesliga titles, a DFB-Pokal, and two European Golden Shoes.
The picture Falk paints is of a family that has settled. Kane’s father Pat and brother Charlie were with him for recent talks in Munich, and people around the negotiations describe a player who is comfortable in the city and in no hurry to test another market.
The United noise stays outside the room
Manchester United, under head coach Michael Carrick, have kept Kane on their radar for years, and Tottenham had held out hope of a reunion in 2027 when his original deal ran down. Neither club is being entertained. Falk has explicitly denied that Kane is in dialogue with Real Madrid, Premier League sides, or Saudi Pro League clubs, calling the suggestion “just not true.”

Dreesen has hinted the extension could be wrapped up after the current international window, and Falk’s own timetable, before the end of 2026, fits neatly into that.
