The UEFA Champions League final, set to take place in Budapest on May 30, is already generating significant buzz and predictions, with England captain Harry Kane offering his perspective on the highly anticipated clash between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite his own team, Bayern Munich, having been eliminated by PSG in the semi-finals, Kane believes the French champions hold a marginal advantage over Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side, though he anticipates a closely contested match.
Kane reflects on Bayern’s exit and final prediction
Speaking after Bayern’s hard-fought exit from the competition, Kane acknowledged the evenness of the upcoming final. “I think it’s really even. Two totally different teams in the way they play but two very strong teams. It will be an interesting final, for sure,” Kane stated, as reported by Metro.
“I think PSG being the reigning champions obviously hold the right to maybe be slight favourites. But overall I think it will be two top teams going at it, it’ll be an even match.”

Kane’s Bayern, under manager Vincent Kompany, pushed PSG to their limits in the semi-finals. After a 5-4 defeat in the first leg at the Parc des Princes, Bayern found themselves a goal down just three minutes into the second leg at the Allianz Arena.
Kane himself scored a dramatic equaliser in the fourth minute of injury time, but it wasn’t enough to overturn the aggregate deficit, leading to their elimination.
Arsenal’s journey and PSG’s quest for history
Arsenal secured their place in the showpiece event with a crucial 1-0 victory at home against Atletico Madrid. This marks a significant milestone for the Gunners, as it is their first Champions League final appearance since their defeat to Barcelona in 2006.
Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, are aiming to make history by winning the Champions League for the second time in the club’s history, having lifted the trophy as reigning champions. PSG manager Luis Enrique expressed his admiration for Arsenal’s campaign while underlining his team’s ambition.

“It’s going to be a different final. But Mikel Arteta, they did it great, they deserved to get to the final. They have been performing the whole season at a high level, they were unbelievable during the whole season,” Enrique commented.
“But it’s a final, they want to win it, I think it would be their first. We want to continue making history in Paris, and to make history we need to win the second one in a row.”
With both clubs boasting strong narratives and a desire for European glory, the final in Budapest promises to be a captivating encounter, living up to Kane’s prediction of an “even match.”
