Joe Rogan and Eddie Hearn comment on Paul vs Joshua fight
The contrast between the fighters was clear during last week’s press conference in Miami. As reported by SPORTbible, Joshua looked every inch the seasoned heavyweight, standing taller and broader than Paul during their first face to face moment.
A contractual limit requires Joshua to weigh no more than 245 pounds at the official weigh in. Heavyweights do not normally cut weight, and the rule applies only to the scales. Once rehydrated, Joshua will be free to enter the ring at whatever weight his body naturally carries. Even with the limit in place, he is still expected to outweigh Paul by a significant margin.
Online reaction has been mixed. Some observers suggested the limit might blunt Joshua’s power, while others argued it could simply make him faster and sharper. Those conversations grew louder once Rogan added his view.
Rogan says the weight limit is irrelevant
Speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience earlier this month, as summarized by SPORTbible, Rogan dismissed any idea that the 245 pound cap would slow Joshua down.

“Yeah, that is nothing,” Rogan said. “It ain’t going to matter. What he is going to do is just do extra cardio and that is just going to make him more dangerous.”
Rogan suggested that motivation might work in Joshua’s favor as well. “He is going to be terrifying. Very angry that Jake Paul wants to fight him,” he said.
He also compared Paul’s past opponents with the challenge he now faces. Paul has beaten former mixed martial arts champions, athletes from other sports, and aging veterans. Joshua, Rogan noted, is an active elite heavyweight. “This is a 36 year old Anthony Joshua. This is a terrifying human being,” he said.
Eddie Hearn shuts down scripted speculation
While Rogan focused on the competitive danger, Eddie Hearn addressed a different storyline. In an interview with The Stomping Ground, he responded to suggestions circulating online that the fight might be arranged for entertainment purposes.

“Please stop with that bulls***,” Hearn said. “This is a professional sanctioned contest.”
Hearn emphasized that Joshua is treating the bout seriously. “He is going to go in there and destroy him,” he said. He confirmed that concessions were made because Paul expects to weigh about 220 pounds.
As part of negotiations, Joshua was asked to come down in weight, an unusual adjustment for a career heavyweight.
Where both fighters stand now
Paul said he expects to enter the fight somewhere between 215 and 225 pounds. He explained that rebuilding strength has been difficult after cutting weight for a planned match with Gervonta Davis before the opponent switch.

Joshua reiterated on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani that he will meet the 245 pound requirement. “111 kilograms which is 245 pounds is what I have to weigh in at,” he said.
A global stage awaits
The eight round bout will stream worldwide on Netflix. Following the large audience for Paul’s previous appearance against Mike Tyson, both camps expect the numbers for this event to be even higher.
The combination of star power, controversy, and genuine competitive uncertainty has created a level of anticipation rarely seen for a crossover matchup.
