Ninety-nine Bundesliga goals in 97 matches. Since he joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham in August 2023, Harry Kane has outscored his own appearance count at a rate the competition has never sustained over that many games.

His 99th came in the 72nd minute at Elversberg. Aleksandar Pavlović laid the ball into him, Kane smashed the finish low, and Bayern were 2-1 winners over SV Elversberg. It was his first Bundesliga goal of the 2026-27 campaign, and his 150th in all competitions for Bayern in 153 appearances.

Kane told beIN Sports afterward that the short scoring gap had not weighed on him.

“That’s football. Sometimes you need to wait a bit longer than you wanted. But it was nice to score a goal today and contribute to the win.”

Beyond Bayern’s benchmarks

Kane’s first 100 competitive appearances for Bayern already stand alone in the club’s history: 91 goals, ahead of Roy Makaay’s 72, Robert Lewandowski’s 70 and Gerd Müller’s 68. He averaged a goal every 82 minutes across those matches, faster than Lewandowski’s rate of one every 100 minutes across 375 Bayern appearances. Since the start of the 2023-24 season, no player in Europe’s top five leagues has come within 10 goals of him.

Elversberg made him wait

Lennart Karl put Bayern ahead in the 26th minute, sweeping in a cross at the back post. Maurice Krattenmacher, on at half-time, levelled just after the hour with a curling effort from long range that dropped into the top corner.

Vincent Kompany reacted with a quadruple change that included Luis Díaz. Michael Olise had already rattled the crossbar with a chipped effort. Kane had a first-half strike ruled out for offside. Then came the pass from Pavlović.

Pavlović was not surprised by what Kane did with it.

“Harry slotted that one in superbly. He likes that little move; he does it quite often. He executed it brilliantly.”
