Cincinnati Bengals have locked down their star wide receivers, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, on long-term deals. And they didn’t hold back financially. With contracts totaling more than $285 million, the duo is now the most expensive receiver pairing in NFL history.
The Ohio-based franchise has hinted at the extensions on social media, while reports from Fox Sports and ESPN on Monday confirmed the details.
Chase’s contract, in particular, is making headlines. The 25-year-old receiver has signed a four-year deal worth up to $161 million. That makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
According to ESPN, $110 million is guaranteed.

Higgins, though earning less than his teammate, still secures a massive $115 million deal over four years. While his contract doesn’t reach Chase’s record-breaking heights, it still ranks among the most lucrative for a receiver.
The league’s best—and most expensive—receiver duo
Chase’s dominance in the NFL has been undeniable. Last season, he led the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns—a feat known as the ‘triple crown’ in the NFL.
In his first four seasons, he has amassed 5,425 yards and 46 touchdowns, establishing himself as one of the league’s premier playmakers.
Higgins, who has been in the league for a year longer, has also been a key contributor. His numbers stand at 4,595 yards and 34 touchdowns, but he hasn’t quite matched Chase’s historic production.

Massive contracts despite the salary cap
These eye-watering contracts might seem staggering, given the NFL’s strict salary cap, but the financial landscape is shifting. This year, the league’s salary cap has increased by approximately $23 million, and projections indicate continued growth in the coming years.
For the Bengals, this means they can afford to keep their offensive stars without breaking the rules. And for quarterback Joe Burrow, it ensures he still has two of the best targets in the league for years to come.
