A brief, trophy-laden spell at FCSB

While his time with FCSB was relatively short-lived, Zima departs with a notable collection of domestic silverware. He secured both the Liga 1 title and the Romanian Supercup during the 2024–2025 campaign. However, his actual on-pitch contributions were heavily limited. After joining the capital club midway through that season, the goalkeeper featured in just 10 official matches across all competitions.

Rebuilding momentum on familiar ground

The transfer marks a major reunion for the veteran goalkeeper, who previously established himself as a reliable presence for Petrolul, making 50 appearances after his initial arrival in the summer of 2023. According to a report covering the roster update by News.ro, Zima’s new contract aims to provide long-term stability for the team’s defensive unit. The club officially welcomed him back in a statement, noting, “Now, Zima returns and brings with him added experience for our team. Welcome back, Lukas!”

Zima’s journey to the Romanian top flight has been extensive. As described by As.ro, the Czech shot-stopper was originally developed within the youth system of Italian club Genoa. He went on to accumulate significant experience across Italy’s top three divisions, featuring for sides such as Reggiana, Venezia, Mantova, Perugia, and Livorno, before spending two seasons in the Dutch second tier with VVV-Venlo.

His varied European background makes him one of the more seasoned profiling goalkeepers in Liga 1 as he seeks to revitalize his playing career back where he found his best form.
