Verstappen, 27, and his partner Kelly Piquet, 36, announced earlier that they were expecting their first child together. However, the exact due date remained unclear, until now.
According to former F1 driver and Verstappen’s close friend Giedo van der Garde, the baby is expected to arrive in April.
Piquet herself has hinted at an imminent birth, recently sharing an Instagram Story showing a packed bag with the caption: “Time to go home and then the countdown can begin,” accompanied by a hatching chick emoji.

If these clues are accurate, Verstappen could find himself caught between two monumental moments: the arrival of his child and a crucial phase in his title defense.
April is packed with three consecutive races—Japan, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia—meaning the Dutchman would have little opportunity to travel back home to Monaco should the birth happen during a race weekend.

The logistical challenge is undeniable. With races outside Europe and tight scheduling, Verstappen would struggle to be by Piquet’s side while also competing at full capacity.
Missing a race could have serious championship implications, given how competitive this season appears to be.
