Morgan Gibbs-White hails Manchester United’s revival
Manchester United’s recent resurgence has caught the attention of many, including Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White, who says it’s been “incredible to see” how the Red Devils have transformed in recent weeks.
United head to the City Ground this weekend riding a wave of form, while Forest remain locked in a fight for Premier League survival under new boss Sean Dyche.
United on the rise
Erik ten Hag’s side have strung together three consecutive league victories, their latest a 4–2 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
The run has lifted them to sixth place in the Premier League table after a turbulent start to the season.

Their improved performances have impressed even rival players. Speaking to Stan Sport, Gibbs-White said he’s been amazed by United’s turnaround. “Yeah it has been incredible to see,” the 25-year-old admitted.
“Obviously they have been going through a tough time the past couple of years but they have stuck with the gaffer, and the past four or five games you’re really starting to see how Manchester United should be playing, that grit and that determination to play for the badge.”
He added, “It’s something that I feel like the league has missed. All we can do is focus on ourselves.”
Forest’s mixed fortunes
While United’s form has improved, Forest remain in the relegation zone.

Their new manager Sean Dyche replaced the dismissed Ange Postecoglou earlier this month and quickly oversaw a morale-boosting 2–0 victory over Porto in the Europa League.
However, that optimism was tempered days later by a 2–0 defeat to Bournemouth.
Gibbs-White said Forest are concentrating on their own preparation rather than being overawed by their next opponents.
“We can’t focus on how Man United are doing,” he explained. “If we do that, we are just bowing down to them. We’ve got to focus on what we are going to do and how we can win the game.”

Looking ahead
Forest have already begun implementing Dyche’s ideas ahead of Saturday’s match.
“I feel like this week we’ve already started to implement some ideas and we’ve still got a few more days until the game, so I’m sure the gaffer will have more and more ideas on how we can beat them,” Gibbs-White said.
History is on United’s side, the Red Devils have dominated this fixture for nearly two decades.
Before losing to Forest in December 2023, United had won 11 straight meetings.

Forest did, however, claim a rare double last season, with United’s last victory at the City Ground coming in the FA Cup in February 2024.
Both sides now meet again under vastly different circumstances, one rebuilding confidence, the other battling to stay afloat.
