Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm is heading into the Formula 1 paddock this weekend.

The Oxfordshire farm has partnered with Alpine for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, where it will provide food and produce for the team during one of the biggest weekends on the F1 calendar.

For Clarkson, best known for Top Gear and Clarkson’s Farm, the move brings together two of his best-known passions: cars and farming.

Alpine turn to local produce

According to SportBible, Alpine have joined forces with Diddly Squat Farm ahead of the British Grand Prix, with Clarkson’s farm supplying the team’s food and produce for the week.

The arrangement includes Alpine’s drivers Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto, as well as the wider team working through the Silverstone weekend.

It is also a notably local partnership. Alpine’s Formula 1 base is in Enstone, Oxfordshire, only around six miles from Diddly Squat Farm, while Silverstone is roughly an hour away from both.

“We are delighted to rely on Diddly Squat Farm to supply us with local farm food this weekend at Silverstone,” Alpine managing director Steve Nielsen said.

A relationship built over time

The link between Clarkson and Alpine is not entirely new.

SportBible reports that Clarkson has previously supplied Alpine with Hawkstone beer to celebrate podium finishes at the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix and the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix.

His Hawkstone brand has also appeared in commercials during Formula 1 coverage on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.

For Alpine, the partnership gives the team a chance to underline its local ties, despite racing under a French identity.

Nielsen said the team had enjoyed “an excellent relationship” with Clarkson and praised the role of British farming around Alpine’s Enstone base.

Lisa Hogan, Clarkson’s partner and co-star on Clarkson’s Farm, also welcomed the collaboration.

She said the British Grand Prix is one of the highlights of the British sporting calendar and described Diddly Squat Farm Shop’s involvement with Alpine as “quite special.”

The partnership also follows a Formula 1 cameo on Clarkson’s Farm, where McLaren driver Oscar Piastri appeared in a recent season reversing a tractor into a barn.

For Alpine, the weekend will still be judged by what happens on track.

But away from the racing, the team will have a distinctly local flavour at Silverstone, supplied by one of Britain’s most recognisable farms.
