Real Madrid approves: Endrick to Lyon

Lyon land one of football’s most watched teenagers

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Olympique Lyon have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Brazilian forward Endrick on a loan deal. Romano confirmed the move on social media, using his trademark phrase “HERE WE GO!” to signal that all parties have finalised the arrangement.

The deal represents a notable coup for Lyon, who will welcome one of the most talked-about young players in global football as they look to inject attacking quality and energy into their squad.

Loan structure reflects long term Madrid plan

According to Fabrizio Romano, the loan will run until June 2026 and does not include any option for Lyon to make the move permanent. Endrick is expected to return to Real Madrid at the conclusion of the spell, underlining the Spanish club’s intention to retain full control over his long-term future.

The temporary nature of the move suggests Madrid view the loan primarily as a development step, allowing the teenager to gain consistent first-team experience away from the intense spotlight of the Bernabéu.

Salary split and playing time guarantees included

Romano reported that Lyon will pay 50 percent of Endrick’s salary during the loan period. The agreement also includes a specific clause related to the number of matches the forward is guaranteed to start, a detail that highlights how central regular playing time is to the deal.

Such clauses are often used to ensure young players gain meaningful minutes, rather than spending long stretches on the bench, particularly when moving to a new league.

Ligue 1 becomes the next proving ground

For Lyon, the arrival of Endrick signals intent and ambition, while for Real Madrid it offers a controlled environment for one of their most valuable prospects to mature. Ligue 1’s mix of physicality and technical play is expected to provide a demanding test for the Brazilian forward as he adapts to European football.

The move places Endrick in a setting where expectations are high but developmental patience still exists, a balance that both clubs appear to have prioritised in shaping the agreement.
