Tears in Cleveland: LeBron last game
LeBron James was visibly moved during a return to Cleveland that may prove to be one of the final chapters of his NBA career. According to TV2 Sport, the Los Angeles Lakers star was honored by the home crowd amid growing uncertainty over whether he will continue playing beyond the current season.
A night shaped by memory
Before tipoff, the Cleveland Cavaliers presented a tribute video tracing LeBron James’ journey from local prodigy to global basketball icon. As highlights from his career played on the arena’s big screen, James wiped away tears, a reaction that underscored his deep connection to the city where his professional career began.
TV2 Sport reported that the ceremony was organized with the understanding that this appearance could be his last in Cleveland as an active NBA player.
“I haven’t made a decision about my future yet, so it could have been my last game here,” LeBron James said.

Cleveland roots run deep
The moment resonated strongly with James, who grew up roughly 35 minutes from the arena. He said the recognition carried personal meaning because of his upbringing in Northeast Ohio and the memories tied to the building.
“It means a lot to me because I grew up 35 minutes from here,” LeBron James said. “I have so many great memories here. So many stories.”
He also reflected on the championship banner hanging from the rafters, a reminder of the Cavaliers’ 2016 NBA title, which he helped deliver to the franchise.
A career that reshaped franchises
LeBron James entered the NBA with Cleveland in 2003 and quickly became one of the league’s defining figures. After leaving to play with the Miami Heat from 2010 to 2014, he returned to Cleveland before joining the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018.

All three franchises won NBA championships with James as a central figure. Despite that résumé, he said he has not set a timetable for deciding whether he will continue playing after the summer.
“I don’t know what the future holds. I’m just trying to live in the moment and not take anything for granted,” he said, according to Reuters.
Reality on the scoreboard
The emotional tone of the evening did not extend to the result. Cleveland controlled the game from start to finish and defeated the Lakers 129,99, offering no concessions to sentiment.
“I hate the way we played, but that kind of thing can happen in the NBA,” LeBron James said afterward.
