White is back in an England squad for only the second time in more than three years, named on Friday for the meetings with Croatia at Wembley on Thursday and Spain in Madrid on 15 November.
The 29-year-old has been booed by sections of the Wembley crowd in the past, a residue of his non-availability during the Gareth Southgate era. Tuchel used the squad announcement to tell those supporters to let it go.
“We were not happy about this. We could understand the disappointment of the fans with what happened before but I think this is expressed now and this should be a closed book,” Tuchel told reporters.
“Every time I see Arsenal, I see a very strong Ben White in this position. He deserves to open a new chapter, he deserves positive feedback from the crowd.”

Palmer cut despite medical all-clear
England’s medical staff carried out checks on the Chelsea forward this week and received confirmation from his club that he was available, yet Tuchel still left him out.
Tuchel told Sky Sports the call was not personal, and framed it as a reward for players who had turned up in the last international break.
“It’s enough No 10s and we stick with the guys who were in camp,” he said.
Palmer, who withdrew from the previous England camp, “misses too many opportunities to impress” in Tuchel’s view, though the England manager said the door remained open.

Saka out for weeks with quad injury
England will also do without Bukayo Saka. The Arsenal forward limped off ten minutes into Arsenal’s 2-2 Champions League draw at Bayern Munich on 21 October and has not played since.
Mikel Arteta confirmed on Friday that Saka would be sidelined for weeks rather than days.
“We’re talking about obviously weeks, let’s say after the international break,” the Arsenal manager said ahead of the home game with Hull City.
Arsenal are still the most represented club in the squad. Ezri Konsa, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Declan Rice and Eberechi Eze join White, with Jobe Bellingham handed a first senior call-up alongside his brother Jude.
