More than two months since his Manchester United deal expired, Jadon Sancho is still without a club, and the wait may be closing in on an end.
Two Premier League clubs have made “fresh approaches” for the 26-year-old in recent days, according to TEAMtalk, which has not identified the sides involved. No club or player has publicly confirmed the contact, so the story sits as a rumour rather than a settled shortlist.
The English interest sits alongside offers from Borussia Dortmund, Turkish clubs, the Saudi Pro League and at least one UAE side, Football365 reported the same week, citing TEAMtalk.
Two loans and a free exit
Sancho’s Manchester United contract ran out at the end of June, five years after his £73m arrival from Dortmund in 2021.
He barely featured for the Old Trafford club in the second half of that spell, spending his final two seasons on loan away from Manchester, first at Chelsea in 2024-25 and then at Aston Villa in 2025-26.
Villa won the Europa League in May, beating SC Freiburg 3-0 in the Istanbul final. Sancho was part of the squad that lifted the trophy but ended the campaign with just two goals in 39 appearances across all competitions.
Dortmund considering a third spell
The strongest alternative to a Premier League return is the club where Sancho made his name. He scored 50 goals with 64 assists in 137 appearances for Borussia Dortmund between 2017 and 2021, and the German side are considering bringing him back for a third stint.
Sancho has told Dortmund he is willing to rejoin them, Sky Sports reported, citing Sky in Germany. The German club lost summer signing Giannis Konstantelias to a long-term injury and are now looking at wide options they had not planned for.

A free agent’s clock
As a free agent, Sancho can sign for any club at any point outside the transfer window, giving him more time than most to weigh his choices. Football365 noted that no negotiations appear advanced at this stage, and that Sancho faces pressure to act soon before a prolonged absence from top-level competition affects his profile.
