Vincent Kompany sells his home, cementing Bayern Munich future
Vincent Kompany, the esteemed former Manchester City captain and current head coach of Bayern Munich, has reportedly sold his luxurious family residence in Cheshire for £3,450,000 (€3,967,068). The sale is widely seen as a significant indicator of his long-term commitment to his coaching role in Germany, moving beyond his deep roots in English football.
A challenging market in the 'Golden Triangle'
The sale comes amidst a challenging period for the high-end property market in Cheshire's exclusive 'Golden Triangle', an affluent area popular with footballers, encompassing towns such as Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, and Prestbury. Kompany's six-bedroom Arts and Crafts-style home, completed in 2009, had previously seen its asking price reduced.
It was reported by Bavarianfootballworks that the original asking price had been slashed by £300,000, bringing it down to £3.65 million. Ultimately, a property source suggested the buyer secured an additional £250,000 reduction from that adjusted price. "Very little is selling at that end of the market," a property source, quoted by The Sun, commented on the local conditions. "I would think the buyer has agreed £250,000 off the asking price. Asking prices at the lower end have increased 20 per cent in a year but not much is selling.”
Despite the market difficulties, the successful sale of such a high-value property for Kompany signals a clear intent. As The Sun reported, "MANCHESTER City legend Vincent Kompany looks set to stay in Germany after selling his stunning family home in leafy Cheshire for £3,450,000."

A luxury residence leaves Kompany's portfolio
The former Manchester City defender's residence was a substantial property, offering approximately 7,600 sq ft of accommodation spread over four floors. Set within about 0.70 acre of meticulously landscaped gardens, the home boasted an array of high-end amenities designed for comfort and entertainment.
The decision to part with such a well-appointed and long-term family home underscores Kompany's dedication to his new chapter in German football.
Having taken the helm at Bayern Munich, the sale of his English base suggests a desire to fully immerse himself in his role and establish a more permanent presence in Germany as he builds his coaching career.
