Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have secured their place in the Champions League final, overcoming Bayern Munich in a captivating semi-final clash with a 6-5 aggregate victory. The Parisian giants, who lifted their first European Cup just 12 months ago, are now one step away from retaining their coveted crown.
A tight second leg seals progression
The second leg saw PSG hold Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw, a result that proved sufficient following a high-scoring encounter at Parc des Princes. PSG wasted no time making their mark, with Ousmane Dembele finding the back of the net in just the third minute.
The goal was orchestrated by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who received a precise first-time pass from Fabian Ruiz before setting up Dembele.
Bayern Munich pushed for an equalizer, eventually finding it in injury time through Harry Kane, assisted by Alphonso Davies. However, the late strike was not enough to bridge the aggregate gap established by what GOAL described as a “nine-goal thriller” in the first leg.

PSG’s defensive efforts were crucial in securing their progression. Goalkeeper Matvey Safonov made five vital saves throughout the match, while young Warren Zaire-Emery stepped into the right-back position admirably, filling in for the injured Hakimi.
In midfield, Vitinha contributed significantly to PSG’s attacking play, creating four chances over the course of the game.
Seeking a second European crown
Under the guidance of manager Luis Enrique, PSG will now prepare to face Arsenal in the final, which is scheduled to be held in Budapest. The reigning Champions League holders are aiming to win their second European Cup, building on their success from the previous season.
Their triumph over Bayern Munich underscores their ambition to establish a dominant presence in European football, setting up a highly anticipated showdown in the Hungarian capital.
