Tiger Woods will likely not play in any of this year’s four major golf tournaments.

The 50-year-old American appears set to miss all four majors for the second consecutive year.

According to RTE, Woods’ name was not included on the entry list when the deadline for The Open expired last week.

The Open will be played in July at Royal Birkdale in England. Woods has won the tournament three times in the past, but he has not played professional golf since the summer of 2024.

Long Break Continues

Tiger Woods has struggled with injuries for several years. He has also undergone multiple surgeries following his serious car accident in 2021.

Earlier this year, Woods stepped away from golf to focus on treatment and his health. The decision came after a drunk-driving case in Florida.

Woods is not automatically qualified for next month’s US Open. However, he still holds a lifetime exemption for the Masters Tournament because of his previous victory there.

Phil Mickelson Still Has a Chance

Phil Mickelson has entered The Open despite barely playing golf this year. He has participated in only one LIV Golf event in 2026.

According to RTE, the break is due to personal reasons. The six-time major winner has not missed The Open since 2009.

However, it remains uncertain whether Mickelson will ultimately compete in the tournament in July.

Uncertain Future for Woods

In recent years, Tiger Woods has played only a limited number of tournaments. His body has struggled to cope with the physical demands of the PGA Tour.

There has been no announcement regarding a possible comeback. As a result, it remains unclear when fans will see Tiger Woods back on the golf course.
