Gary Neville is backing his former club to edge Everton 2-1 on Sunday. Roy Keane sees a draw.
The two former Manchester United captains split on the fixture on the latest episode of The Overlap, with Neville leaning on United’s recent record at Everton’s ground and Keane pointing back to a match Everton very nearly won last season.
“2-1 United. Sorry Everton fans. We do have a good record there. I think we do well there,” Neville said.
Keane’s read was different.

“Everton should have got a result last year. Let’s go 1-1,” he said, referencing United’s 1-0 win on their previous visit to Merseyside.
A comeback week for United
Michael Carrick’s side arrive at Hill Dickinson Stadium after a whipsaw fortnight. United were beaten 2-0 by newly promoted Hull City on the Premier League opening weekend on 22 August, a result that dropped them to 17th in the early table.
They responded a week later. Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick as United came from behind to beat Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford on 30 August, with Bryan Mbeumo adding the fifth. It lifted United to 10th with three points.
Everton unbeaten but bitten late
Everton go into the fixture unbeaten, but with a familiar sting from stoppage time on their minds. Alex Scott put Bournemouth ahead in the 41st minute at the Vitality Stadium on 29 August, and it took a James Tarkowski strike in the first minute of added time to rescue a 1-1 draw for David Moyes’ side.

That followed a 2-0 home win over Crystal Palace in the season opener, leaving Everton on four points from two matches, one point clear of United going into the head-to-head.
Moyes has been vocal about wanting further reinforcements in the summer transfer window, and the deadline passed without the additions he had targeted.
