Agius was confirmed alongside Luca Marini at the KTM satellite squad on 16 September, the final piece slotted into a jigsaw that has occupied the paddock for most of the year.

Tech3 CEO Guenther Steiner said: “We believe Senna has the qualities to make a very strong step into MotoGP.”

For Agius, a Moto2 race winner, the deal was the payoff for a decade of work.

“Today, a lifelong dream of mine has come true: reaching MotoGP,” he said in the team’s announcement.

Half the paddock has moved

At the front, Ducati has confirmed Pedro Acosta as Marc Márquez’s new teammate for 2027, ending Francesco Bagnaia’s factory partnership. Bagnaia moves to Aprilia to line up alongside Marco Bezzecchi, who currently leads the manufacturer’s charge in the 2026 title fight.

KTM has assembled a factory pairing of Álex Márquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio, prising the Italian away from VR46 and the younger Márquez brother away from Gresini.

At Gresini, Joan Mir stays put and will be joined by Moto3 champion Dani Holgado, while Fermín Aldeguer continues at VR46 with Superbike graduate Nicolò Bulega arriving as his teammate.

Two grand prix winners swap camps

The most eye-catching swap sits between Yamaha and Honda. Jorge Martín, the 2024 world champion, leaves Aprilia to partner Ai Ogura at the factory Yamaha for 2027. Fabio Quartararo takes the opposite path, leading HRC’s project at Honda after years of Yamaha frustration.

Honda’s second seat and the Castrol LCR ride are still to be split between rookies Diogo Moreira and 2024 Moto3 champion David Alonso, with only the pairing of Johann Zarco at LCR already confirmed.

Superbike stars headline the rookie class

The new 850cc prototype era arrives with a fresh intake alongside Agius. The confirmed rookie list is heavy on cross-discipline signings:

Two Superbike title contenders stepping across in the same window sets up an immediate test of the crossover. Razgatlıoğlu partners Guevara at a Yamaha satellite team that returns to the grid under new colours, while Trackhouse keeps Raúl Fernández and adds Enea Bastianini from Tech3.

The 2026 title fight runs alongside the reshuffle

The confirmed grid arrives with the current championship still on a knife edge. Márquez and Martín are level on 274 points after Márquez swept the Misano weekend on 13 September, with the seven-time champion leading on countback via more grand prix wins. Bezzecchi, who stays on at Aprilia for 2027, sits third on 241.

The next round, the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, runs on 18-20 September.
