Of the three Liverpool concerns, only one is a settled no. Jeremie Frimpong is out, with Iraola confirming the Dutch right-back picked up a fresh muscle injury within minutes of coming on at Brentford on 17 October and will not be back before the November international window.
“Jeremie Frimpong is obviously a new muscle injury and it happened, I think, in the second or third minute he was playing,” Iraola told reporters.
That rules Frimpong out of Sunday’s meeting with Arsenal, with Conor Bradley still working his way back from a knee problem of his own.
Szoboszlai close, but still a doubt
The call on Dominik Szoboszlai is less clear-cut. The Hungary midfielder was forced off at Brentford with a hamstring issue and subsequently missed the midweek Champions League win over Villarreal, and Iraola sought to downplay the setback as an aggravation rather than a new tear.

“It’s not a new injury, I think it’s in the same place it was probably last week,” he said. “We probably have to be a bit patient until he recovers fully, but it is not like he has to wait a long time to come back.”
Iraola has since suggested Szoboszlai could return for Arsenal, but Liverpool are not forcing the issue.
Munoz and Wirtz add to the uncertainty
The third name on the list is Victor Munoz. The 22-year-old Spain winger, signed from Osasuna in the summer, played the full 90 at Brentford and has since picked up a minor knee issue that leaves him a long shot for Arsenal.
Florian Wirtz is a separate but related worry. The Germany playmaker hobbled off just past the hour of Sunday’s 2-0 win over Brighton after a twisted ankle, and although he came on in the Carabao Cup tie at Chelsea on Wednesday, his availability is not guaranteed.

“I’m quite optimistic that he will be available,” Iraola said at his pre-Arsenal press conference, with Giovanni Leoni, Hugo Ekitike and Bradley all still absent longer term.
Arsenal arrive without Saka
The other dugout has its own problems. Bukayo Saka limped out of Arsenal’s 2-2 Champions League draw at Bayern Munich on 21 October after clutching his left thigh in the tenth minute, and Mikel Arteta later gave an uncompromising reading of the signs.
“He doesn’t look good at all, but we’ll have to wait and see,” the Spaniard said.
Saka has since been ruled out of the Anfield trip, with William Saliba also sidelined by a back issue and Riccardo Calafiori a doubt with a hip problem. Christos Tzolis, who missed Arsenal’s 2-0 win at Everton on 24 October with a hamstring issue, is pencilled in to return around the Liverpool date.

Second against fourth at Anfield
The fixture matters at the top. Arsenal sit second in the Premier League, level on 21 points with leaders Manchester City on goal difference, while Liverpool are fourth on 15 after their first home league win of the season against Brighton. Kick-off at Anfield on Sunday 1 November is at 4:30pm local time.
