Sky Sports mutes Haaland in live interview
Manchester City’s win over Arsenal kept the Premier League title race finely balanced but attention quickly shifted from the result to a moment during the post-match broadcast.
Erling Haaland scored the winner at the Etihad Stadium after earlier goals from Rayan Cherki and Kai Havertz. The victory leaves City able to move top of the table if they beat Burnley on Wednesday, while Arsenal have five games remaining.
Live TV moment draws attention
The focus turned to Sky Sports’ post-match coverage, where Haaland appeared alongside Bernardo Silva, who had been named man of the match.
While praising Silva’s defensive display, Haaland used explicit language during the live interview.

“I remember that cross, I told him after. You were like f***** Cannavaro,” he said.
Interviewer Patrick Davidson responded: “Erling, language please.”
Haaland continued: “Come on, we've all been swearing in our lives. I just told him he was like Cannavaro. Today, Bernie, I'm not going to make it emotional in here but you were really good.”
Sky Sports cut the audio shortly afterward, and presenter Dave Jones later issued an on-air apology.

Heated battle with Gabriel
The interview came after a physical contest between Haaland and Arsenal defender Gabriel during the match, which also drew scrutiny.
Some viewers, as reflected in Sky Sports coverage, questioned whether Gabriel was fortunate to avoid a red card after appearing to move his head toward Haaland. The City striker suggested the decision might have been different had he gone to ground.
“I think it's always like this, a lot of fighting and things like this,” Haaland said. “It's up to others to decide if I won that battle or not. I scored the goal so I won the battle in that moment. It was a great goal, it was a decisive moment and we win.”
On the incident, he added: “I think if I fell on the floor, which I will not do unless someone really attacks me, it will maybe be a red card. I'm not sure. But it is what it is, I will not fall on the floor. Yellow card for me, I'm not sure why, he comes up to my face. But it is what it is.”
