AC Milan have made their biggest transfer statement in years.
The Italian club have confirmed the signing of Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain, handing new head coach Ruben Amorim a Portuguese striker to lead the next version of the Rossoneri attack.
The move is not just another summer arrival.
It is a record-breaking investment and a clear sign that Milan want to build quickly around Amorim’s ideas.

Milan confirm long-term deal
According to AC Milan’s official statement, Ramos has signed a contract with the club until 30 June 2031.
The club did not disclose the transfer fee.
But the length of the deal says plenty. Milan are not treating Ramos as a short-term fix. They see him as a centre-forward for the next phase of the project.
The Portuguese forward arrives from PSG after three seasons in Paris, where he was part of a squad that collected major domestic and European trophies.

AC Milan also highlighted Ramos’ development at Benfica, where he came through the academy, made more than 100 appearances and scored 41 goals before moving to France.
A record fee for the Rossoneri
The fee is what makes the transfer stand out.
According to Fabrizio Romano, quoted by SempreMilan, the deal is worth €74 million plus add-ons.
Romano described it as a record fee for Milan, and the numbers underline the scale of the move.

According to Transfermarkt, the transfer eclipses the €49.5 million Milan paid Lille for Rafael Leão in 2019.
That makes Ramos the most expensive player in AC Milan history.
It is a major commitment for a club that has often been more cautious in the market than some of Europe’s other giants.
Amorim gets his striker
The transfer also looks closely tied to Ruben Amorim.

According to AS, Ramos was high on Amorim’s list as Milan looked to strengthen their attack.
That connection matters.
Amorim knows Portuguese football well, and Ramos fits the profile of a forward who can press, occupy centre-backs and finish moves inside the penalty area. He is not simply arriving as a famous name. He is arriving as a player the coach appears to have wanted.
For Ramos, the move also offers something he did not always have in Paris: a clearer route to becoming the main striker.

A fresh start after PSG
Ramos’ time at PSG was successful on paper, but not always straightforward.
According to AC Milan, he scored 45 goals in 131 appearances for the French club and won three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies, three Trophée des Champions, two Champions League titles, one UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
Those numbers show that he contributed.
But at PSG, he was rarely the undisputed face of the attack. Milan are likely offering him a different status.
This is a transfer built on both reputation and responsibility. Ramos is 25 years old, entering what should be the prime years of his career, and Milan have paid a record fee because they expect him to deliver immediately.
A signing that raises expectations
Milan needed a statement.
Ramos gives them one.
He brings Champions League experience, international pedigree with Portugal and a proven scoring record from Benfica and PSG. But the size of the deal also brings pressure.
A record signing is judged differently. Goals will be expected. Big-match performances will be demanded. And if Milan’s attack struggles, the fee will quickly become part of the discussion.
For now, though, the message is clear.
AC Milan have backed Amorim with a major signing, and Ramos arrives at San Siro as the new centrepiece of the attack.
