Arsenal’s recruitment staff have reached out to Can Uzun’s representatives about a potential move for the 19-year-old Turkey international, according to Mark Brus of The Daily Briefing. The report landed as the Bundesliga season crossed its sixth matchday and more than two months before the January window opens.

The channel is 11WINS, the agency that also looks after Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala and Club Brugge forward Nicolò Tresoldi. The same conversation that put Uzun on the table has run alongside Arsenal’s push to sign Tresoldi, giving Mikel Arteta’s recruitment team two separate Premier League-level targets inside one agency relationship.

Brus puts Uzun’s release clause at €60m. The number has climbed since the summer, when Frankfurt would reportedly have taken closer to €40m. A strong start to 2026-27 is the reason.

Through the first six games of the Bundesliga season Uzun has started every match and produced four goals and three assists, according to Eintracht Frankfurt’s official squad profile. The attacking midfielder, who wears the number 42 shirt, has been under contract at the Deutsche Bank Park since joining from 1. FC Nürnberg in 2024.

Who Can Uzun is

Born in Regensburg in November 2005, Uzun chose Turkey over Germany at senior international level in 2024. Bundesliga.com describes him as a nimble, right-footed attacker who plays best behind a central striker but can drift wide from either flank, and the outlet has compared his speed of thought and finishing to Musiala’s.

The 2023-24 campaign at Nürnberg, where Uzun scored 19 goals across all competitions as a teenager, is what pushed him into Frankfurt’s recruitment and onto Premier League shortlists.

Running two tracks through one agency is the subplot that gives this story its shape. Brus reported that Arsenal are the current favourites to sign Tresoldi in January, with the Germany Under-21 forward on nine goals in 12 appearances this season after a hat-trick in Brugge’s 4-3 Champions League win at Inter Milan.

Club Brugge are reportedly asking around £42m for Tresoldi after turning down a £30m bid from Roma in August. Arsenal know the Belgian side well after agreeing a £35m deal for Christos Tzolis in the summer.

On Uzun, Brus writes that other Premier League clubs are circling.

“Arsenal have had some initial contacts about Can Uzun. I can’t say for sure if he’s at the top of their list, but they like him and they’re not alone in that,” he wrote for The Daily Briefing.

Aston Villa, Brighton and Everton are all named in the report as monitoring the Turkey international.

The €60m question

Whether Arsenal are willing to meet the clause in full is the open question. Sources familiar with the club’s transfer thinking have doubted the Gunners would pay the full €60m for a player still establishing himself in the Bundesliga, Brus writes, which is why the current contact looks more like a feeler than a serious bid.

Arteta signed a new Arsenal contract this month that runs through 2030, confirmed by Sky Sports, after Arsenal won the Premier League title in 2025-26. The side has started the current season with 10 wins from their first 11 games across all competitions.

Neither Arsenal nor Frankfurt has commented on the Uzun report. Adi Hütter’s side are away to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, 24 October, with Uzun then due to join up with Turkey for the November international window.
