Kamil Grabara’s career has taken him from Polish youth football through Liverpool, Denmark and Germany. The next stop is Turin, where the 27-year-old has officially become a Juventus player. His arrival completes a significant move for a goalkeeper who built much of his reputation during a successful period with FC Copenhagen.

Juventus secure a structured deal

According to Juventus’ official announcement, Grabara has joined on loan from Wolfsburg until June 30, 2027. The Italian club also holds an option to make the transfer permanent. It is an option rather than an obligation, meaning Juventus can evaluate the goalkeeper before committing to the full investment.

According to Simone Lorini’s financial breakdown for TuttomercatoWeb, Juventus will initially pay €500,000 for the loan and €200,000 in additional costs. A further €300,000 may become payable if specified sporting objectives are achieved. The purchase option is valued at €11.5 million and would be paid across three financial years.

Copenhagen transformed his career

Grabara joined Liverpool’s academy in 2016 but never made a senior appearance for the English club. Loans at AGF and Huddersfield provided his first extended experience of professional football before he moved permanently to FC Copenhagen in 2021. Denmark became the setting in which he established himself as a leading goalkeeper.

He won two Danish championships and the Danish Cup during his time in Copenhagen. Grabara also made his Champions League debut and delivered several memorable performances in European competition. His commanding style and strong personality made him one of the most recognisable players in the Danish Superliga.

A new role in Turin

The Polish goalkeeper moved to Wolfsburg in 2024 and made 63 Bundesliga appearances across two seasons. He remained the club’s regular starter, but Wolfsburg’s relegation created an opportunity for both parties to consider a new direction. Juventus have now offered him a route back into top-flight football and European competition.

Grabara is expected to join a reorganised goalkeeping department in Turin, with Guglielmo Vicario positioned as the leading option. The loan structure gives him a season to challenge that hierarchy and convince Juventus to activate the permanent clause. The move is already official, but the next year will determine whether Turin becomes a lasting home.
